10 Easy Ways to Burn Fat & Lose Weight!

Changing diet should be a matter of healthier life style. Learn all you can about different foods and nutrition. The more you know the easier it is to implement healthy nutrition in your diet.

1. Substitute fruit purees for butter or margarine. They are easy to prepare in a food processor and will significantly reduce calories and fat.
2. Cheese is good for you, but the fat is not. Try this: Zap cheese in the microwave and drain off grease.
3. Exercising before you eat just makes you hungrier. Exercise AFTER eating when the body has to work harder to digest food.
4. Don’t eat while watching television. You can become so engrossed in your program that don’t realize how much you are eating.
5. Too many people skip breakfast. Eat in the morning when the body burns more calories.
6. Water mixed with fructose suppresses appetite better than glucose with water or diet drinks. Drink a glass of orange juice one half to one hour before a meal.
7. Avoid trans-fatty acids. Use olive, corn or canola oil when cooking.
8. Switch from whole to skim milk. All the nutrients are there without the fat. Okay, at least cut back to low fat!
9. Limit yourself to just four egg yolks a week.
10. Trim all fat from meats before cooking. You’ll be amazed at how much you reduce your fat intake if you take this one small step.

Failure is Success in Disguise

Juris, a surgeon, was only three years old when he learned that one must fail in order to learn and to strive for more. However, such philosophizing was not known to him then as he was still too young. He only began to realize it as such when confronted with failure in his personal life and career.

His realization came hazily as his memories of such a tender age were faded by time. What he can remember though, is that he was always striving hard to learn how to bike. His mom and dad bought him a bike too big for his age and so he had difficulty in using the pedals.

Juris practiced his biking skills everyday, sometimes falling because he could not even reach the ground. While his bicycle had a handbrake, he could remember using his feet to stop his bike whenever he feels like it. Finally, his frustration has borne fruit because after weeks of daily practice, he has learned to stroll around the neighborhood with his bike.

Such a simple lesson from a child but every adult can learn so much from it. Our society has placed so much emphasis on success that failure has become a dirty and much-avoided word.

Others rely on positive thinking to keep failure at bay. While it helps, it also lulls a person into believing that nothing can go wrong, thus creating a false sense of security.

Failure may be a bitter pill to swallow but everyone must fail at one time in their lives. However, as Juris' experience has taught us, it is not the fact that you have failed that is important but the manner in which you have accepted and risen from such failure.

A person can either allow himself to be thwarted by failure, or he can use such failure to build up his determination to climb more mountains. What is important is that the experience of failing was not for naught, because the person who failed learned something from the experience.

Effective Leaders Anticipate Problems and Accept Truth

Effective Leaders:

1. Anticipate Problems: Since problems are inevitable, good
leaders anticipate them. Anyone who expects the road to be
easy will continually find himself in trouble. I heard a
story about David Livingstone, the missionary to Africa, that
illustrates the kind of attitude leaders need. A mission
organization wanted to send helpers to Dr. Livingstone and wrote, "Have
you found a good road to where you are? If so, we want to
send other men to join you."

Livingstone replied, "If you have men who will come only if they know
there is a good road, I don't want them. I want men who will
come even if there is no road at all."

2. Accept the Truth: People respond to problems in these
ways: they refuse to accept them; they accept them and then
put up with them; or they accept them and try to make things better.
Leaders must always do the latter.

Broadcaster Paul Harvey said, "In times like these it is good to
remember that there have always been times like these." No
leaser can simultaneously have his head in the sand and navigate his
people through troubled waters. Effective leaders face up to
the reality of a situation.

Leadership Quotes

Leadership is the
capacity and will to rally men and women to a common purpose and the
character which inspires confidence.

~Bernard Montomery,
British Field Marshal

Never "for the
sake of peace and quite" deny your own experience or convictions.

~Dag
Hammarskjòld, Statesman and Nobel Peace Prize Winner

How can you have
charisma? Be more concerned about making others feel good about
themselves than you are making them feel good about you.

~Dan Reiland, VP of
Leadership Development, INJOY

I have yet to find
the man, however exalted his station, who did not do better work and
put forth greater effort under a spirit of approval than under a spirit
of criticism.

~Charles Schwab,
Industrialist

People do not follow
uncommitted leaders. Commitment can be displayed in a full
range of matters to include the work hours you choose to maintain, how
you work to improve your abilities, or what you do for your fellow
workers at personal sacrifice.

~Stephen Gregg,
Chairman and CEO of Ethix Corp.

He who has done
his best for his own time has lived for all times.

~Johann von Schiller,
Playwright

Developing excellent
communication skills is absolutely essential to effective leadership.
The leader must be able to share knowledge and ideas to transmit a
sense of urgency and enthusiasm to others. If a leader can't
get a message across clearly and motivate others to act on it, then
having a message doesn't even matter.

~Gilbert Amelio,
President and CEO of National Semiconductor Corp.

Educators take something simple and make it complicated. Communicators
take something complicated and make it simple.

~John C Maxwell

Man
must resolve for all human conflict a method which rejects revenge,
aggression and retaliation. The foundation of such a method
is love.

~Martin Luther King, Jr.

There is an old
joke about a man who was asked if he could play a violin and answered,
"I don't know. I've never tried." This is psychologically a
very wise reply. Those who have never tried to play a violin
really do not know whether they can or not. Those who say too
early in life and to firmly, "No, I'm not all that musical," shut
themselves off prematurely from whole areas of life that might have
proved rewarding.

Do YOU Need Vitamin Supplements

Do You Need Vitamin Supplements? Hear testimonies from people who have improved their lives just by adding vitamin supplements and mineral supplements to their daily routines. eBooks on Health and Wellness

Health food vitamins are essential to good health.

A large scale study examined over a million people in the U.S. and compared their mortality rates after segregating them into groups based on their vitamin supplements use. Those participants that had just used a vitamin supplements alone, without Vitamins A, C, or E, had minimal reductions in cancer and heart disease rates. However, those participants who had uses vitamin supplements WITH vitamins A, C, and E had significantly reduced risk of heart disease related deaths.

Fresh fruit and vegetables don't pack the vitamin potential they did even a decade ago. By the time fresh fruit gets to the store, sits on a shelf, is purchased, sits in the refrigerator, is cooked, and finally eaten, only a very small fraction of the nutritional value is left to be absorbed. A clear reason to answer the question, "Do you need vitamin supplements?"

Why are vitamin supplements and mineral supplements important? Our bodies are out of balance, lacking proper vitamins and nutrients and our immune systems are compromised by toxins and pollution, it's no surprise that we eat and eat and never satisfy the essential health food vitamin needs our bodies are craving.

Thinking Positive, Change Your Mind, Change Your Life

Thinking Positive, Change Your Mind, Change Your Life

“Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.”
- Abraham Lincoln

When tapping in to the power of thinking positive, the most important step is to create a mindset that allows you to think positively. Once you have pulled the weeds from your mental garden, you can begin to sow the seeds that will anchor your new way of life.

Creating a positive mindset takes training. In much the same manner as runners train their bodies to endure long periods of sustained activity, you can train your mind to sustain positive thought, and naturally defer to pleasant or optimistic paths. At first, thinking positively may feel awkward or ridiculous (particularly if you’re the type of person who believes perky morning people should be shot). Keep in mind, though, that it does get easier the more you do it, and eventually, sustaining a thinking positive mindset will be as natural as breathing.

Like any training program, there are steps you can follow to achieve your optimal results: in this case, a thinking positive mental outlook. You may recall that it takes 21 days to form a new habit (what’s that...you’ve forgotten already? Go back and add “long-term memory” to your list of habits you’d like to improve). Therefore, you should perform each step for at least 21 consecutive days. You can take on one step at a time, or implement the several steps.
Step up to your mental treadmill, and let the training begin!

Warm Up: Shake Out Those Negative Kinks

When you think about it, it’s obvious: negative is the opposite of positive, so in order to instill a thinking positive mindset you need to get rid of negative thoughts. Sounds simple enough, right? The process is an easy one, but it takes practice to make it stick.
The first step in clearing negativity from your mind is to really pay attention to your thoughts. Whenever the words can’t, shouldn’t, wouldn’t, won’t, not, or never enter your mind, concentrate on what you’re thinking and turn it around to eliminate the negative wording. For example:

Your spouse and children are gone for a few hours, and you have the place to yourself. You’re indulging in one of your favorite activities. In the midst of your enjoyment, you start to feel guilty. You think: I really shouldn’t be doing this. I could be getting started on the project I promised someone else I’d take care of. Your enjoyment starts to fade, and you stop what you’re doing, resentful that you have to tackle this boring project when you have so little time to yourself...

Does this sound familiar? The moment you hear yourself think shouldn’t, stop right there and change direction. In this scenario, you might instead think I really should be doing this. Taking time for me is important, and when I’m relaxed and satisfied I will be able to do a better job on that project I promised someone else. I’m so glad I got the opportunity to do something I enjoy.

Try to do this every time a negative thought creeps in. The more often you banish negative ideas from your mind, the easier thinking positive will become. You will be more relaxed and receptive to positive solutions.
